Martha Robertson
Conductor
Martha Robertson is excited to join Chelmsford Children’s Chorus on its mission of supplying quality choral education in a community setting to Chelmsford and surrounding cities and towns! Growing up in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Martha cultivated a love for all things music, movement, and theater through positive experiences in strong community chorus, theater, and dance. Community music and chorus has been an integral part of Martha’s journey in becoming a music educator, so she is eager to get involved on the ground level of a community chorus right here in Chelmsford!
Martha has been teaching and directing middle school chorus and theater at Parker Middle School for 4 years, and vocal coaching for the high school musical’s productions for two years. She is also the current coordinator of the All-State Treble Chorus for Massachusetts.
Making music is a form of self expression, making music with others is an act of recognizing others’ self expression, and working to make beautiful music with others is a work of genuine art. In every chorus setting, Martha builds off of this genuine art, from the odd vocal sounds in a warm up sequence, to the laughter in between pieces, to the silence heard after a stunning performance. So let’s make some beautiful music!
